What the Alberta screen industry is doing
All aspects and areas of the industry are prioritizing diversity, equity, inclusion, access and belonging through several initiatives:
- Equity protocols for both racialized people and the Gender and Sexually Diverse community to help ensure their on-set experiences are positive and that productions in Alberta do not inadvertently contribute to further oppression.
- An introductory, sector-specific antiracism training series to support those who work in the Alberta film and television industry in creating more inclusive environments.
- Edmonton Screen Industries Office runs this Underrepresented Initiatives Program

Indigenous engagement
We’re committed to establishing strong, positive relationships with Indigenous communities. Through a partnership with Pathfinder Film Academy, film and television training programs with industry certifications will be offered to help create ongoing opportunities.
